 Welcome to ALPFA New York!

April 5, 2018
A Message from the President:

Dear ALPFA NY members, partners and friends,

It has been a pleasure serving as President over the last two-plus years. Allow me to introduce your next ALPFA NY Chapter President, Maximo (Max) Blandon, Managing Director at Stephens who joins officially as of today in the role.  Max has served actively on the ALPFA NY Senior Leadership Council (SLC) over the last year and brings extensive non-profit Board experience, senior contacts and organizational expertise that will move ALPFA NY to new heights. Please join me in welcoming Max.

Since November 2015, ALPFA NY has pioneered a new organizational model that saw the introduction of a SLC and other innovations that are now being used in other chapters including Chicago and Miami. This and winning Chapter of the Year in 2016, among other accomplishments, could not have been possible without the hard work and dedication of the Office of the President professional volunteers who define service. Angel Lorente, Alex Almonte, Jessica Palacios and Katie Schlomann have been catalytic colleagues and friends on the journey. Our other member volunteers and especially our student chapters are the engines of action and hope. My deepest thanks and appreciation to all of you for your dedication. The ALPFA national staff continues to be supportive as we move into a new era that will soon see both a new Executive Director and Director of Office operations as new additions to the New York Chapter, allowing for full-time support to help carry out our mission. This coupled with a solid volunteer team, the SLC and our corporate partners will allow us to continue to serve our community and grow our membership.

I will remain closely active with ALPFA, joining the ALPFA NY SLC and the National Corporate Advisory Board as well as helping Max and ALPFA CEO Charlie Garcia with fun projects, including the Most Powerful Latinas Summit on 24 April at Columbia University.

Lastly, I invite you to join us in building our community and empowering Latino leaders. Email to learn how you can volunteer with ALPFA NY.

Gracias por todo,

Orlando Camargo

About ALPFA New York

ALPFA (Association of Latino Professionals for America) is a national, not-for-profit professional association that creates opportunities, adds value, and builds relationships for its members, the community and its business partners while expanding Latino Leadership in the global workforce.

The ALPFA New York Chapter embarked on a journey in 2015 to reorganize our structure. One key change was the establishment of a Senior Leadership Council (SLC) comprised of the senior-most Latino and Latina leaders from Corporate America. These leaders represent the best of New York, and they provide much needed mentorship and guidance to our Chapter as we grow to new levels. Additionally, they are instrumental in helping our members connect more closely with rewarding careers in Corporate America.
