Originally from Yuma, Arizona, Charlene Lawson is a CPA and Internal Auditor and Adjunct Accounting Professor. She has Bachelor’s of Science in Accountancy from Arizona State University and a Master’s of Science in Accountancy from the University of Notre Dame. Lawson serves as ALPFA’s Executive Vice President. Outside of work, Charlene enjoys traveling and attending concerts.
Alexis Greer is a CPA and is an alum of The University of Arizona Eller College of Management. Alexis graduated in 2010 with his Masters in Accounting and Entrepreneurship and began his career in the Assurance practice at Ernst & Young in Phoenix. Alexis is now the Manager of Treasury and Compliance at Taser International and focuses on domestic and international treasury functions, as well as accounting special projects. Outside of work, Alexis enjoys travel and hanging out with his pet Boxer.
Jessica Pensky graduated from the University of Arizona, Eller College of Management, in 2011 with her Bachelor in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting, and in 2013 with her Master in Accounting. She then obtained her CPA license in the State of Arizona in 2014. Following her graduation, she joined Ernst & Young (“EY”) in their Phoenix Assurance practice, where she serves as an auditor for both private and public companies. During her time in college, she was a board member for the University of Arizona ALPFA chapter, as well as the Tucson Professional chapter, and subsequently joined the Phoenix ALPFA chapter as a professional. At EY, she serves as the Co-Chair for the Latino Professional Network and Vice-Chair for the Professional Women’s Network, where she is responsible for planning and coordinating all of the events for those networks in the Phoenix office.
Alain was born in Havana, Cuba and raised in Las Vegas, NV. He attended the University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV), where he served in the Army Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) program and graduated in 2009 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Political Science. Following graduation, he was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant and entered active duty in the U.S. Army Field Artillery. Upon his graduation from the Field Artillery Officer Basic Course at Fort Sill, OK, Alain served five years with the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, NC where he held various positions to include Platoon Leader and Executive Officer. From 2011-2012 he was deployed to Northern Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. In 2014, Alain graduated from the Field Artillery Captain’s Career Course at Fort Sill, OK and served two years as a Captain with the 25th Infantry Division at Schofield Barracks, HI. In 2016, Alain transitioned out of active duty military and was selected as one of the inaugural members of the JPMorgan Chase & Co. Military Officer Executive Development Program (MOEDP) in Phoenix, AZ. Alain is the recipient of the 2017 ALPFA Veteran of the Year Award, 2016 Phoenix 40 Under 40 Award, Nevada Congressional Leadership Award, four Army Commendation Medals, Afghanistan Campaign and NATO Medals. He is a graduate of the U.S. Army Airborne, Air Assault and Ranger Schools. Alain has been featured in the Phoenix Business Journal, Latino Leaders Magazine and U.S. Veterans Magazine. He is married to the former Jennifer Mondolino and they live in Scottsdale, AZ.
Mr. David G. Clower joined RDF as its Chief Credit Officer in 2010 with over 20 years of commercial and investment banking experience covering commercial real estate, venture debt for technology companies, private equity, and socially responsible impact investing. He is responsible for setting business strategy and managing the growth of quality assets under management at RDF; and has overseen the organization and execution of the firm’s specialty finance businesses dedicated to the Education, Affordable Housing, and Healthcare industries; and established new investment platforms focused on the US/Mexico Border and Gulf Coast Regions. Mr. Clower is a member of the New Markets Tax Credit Coalition Board of Directors and the Bank of America Merrill Lynch Community Advisory Board. He is a multi-national with dual citizenship in the United States and México. He studied Applied Economics at the University of San Francisco; Commercial Real Estate Finance at MIT; and Strategic Business Leadership at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
