Crystal is a Certified Public Accountant in Nevada and a Senior Manager in the Assurance practice of RSM. In her role, she devotes a majority of her time serving clients in the real estate and construction industry ranging in size from $10 million to over $500 million in revenue.
Crystal is a member of the national steering committee for the Hispanic Organization for Leadership an Advancement (¡HOLA!) employee network group, whose mission is to attract, retain and empower Hispanic/Latino Employees of RSM. In this role, she is responsible for leading the strategic integration of the ¡HOLA! mission within RSM, identifying and developing programs to support the overall objectives of ¡HOLA!, and providing recommendations for recruiting, engagement and retention efforts for group members.
Crystal has been a member of ALPFA for 12 years. In 2018, she led the relaunching of the Las Vegas chapter, which has successfully attracted over 300 members. In her role as president of the Las Vegas ALPFA chapter, she oversees the operations, partnerships and strategic initiatives of ALFPA Las Vegas.
Crystal is a Colorado native and relocated to Las Vegas the summer of 2019 with her husband Zach along with their two rescue dogs from Tijuana, Mexico. She has been working in the beverage industry for over 10 years and has led teams to national recognition.
Crystal currently works for Diageo North America as the On Premise Channel Manager for Nevada. She is excited to be expanding her network within not only the Las Vegas community but also the Latino community.
She is eager to learn from the ALPFAmilia and be integrated as the new Director of Memberships. She is looking to add value to our community by engaging with members in a way they find valuable and reaching more professionals in the Latino community who have a growth mindset.
Brett Valdez is the new Director of Professional Events. Brett currently serves as a relationship manager in the corporate banking group at Nevada State Bank in Las Vegas, NV. He has more than ten years of experience in portfolio management, credit analysis, financial analysis, leadership and commercial banking. Brett was previously a member of United Way of Orange County’s Emerging Leaders United (ELU) group, which engages young professionals in efforts to raise awareness and resources to improve education, income, and health outcomes in Orange County’s underserved communities. He also served as treasurer of the Southern California chapter of U.S. Bank’s Nosotros Latino Business Resource Group and was also selected as a member to serve on Jamboree Housing Corporation’s advisory board and audit committee. Brett is very passionate about traveling the world and has visited 35 countries to date.
Mitzel is an Internal Audit Manager for MGM Resorts International and her experience includes intimate exposure to intricate operations at various properties, construction projects, and corporate accounting.
Mitzel is an active member of many associations including the Institute of Internal Auditors, Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, and Nevada Hotel and Lodging Association, and Women in Lodging. Mitzel was one of only 30 decision makers on the 2016-2018 MGM Resorts International Community Grant Council, which distributed almost 3 millions of dollars of funds to the community during 2017. Mitzel is very active in MGM programs which demonstrates her continuous improvement, volunteerism, and leadership competencies.
At ALPFA Las Vegas, she helps spearhead the development of partnerships with community organizations, colleges and universities and companies with presence in Southern Nevada.
Ana Munoz is the VP of Operations for ALPFA Las Vegas. She builds Continuous Improvement capability for Caesars Entertainment Corporation by cultivating a culture of continuous learning, systematic problem solving, data-driven decision making, and team member collaboration.
With 20 years of hospitality and gaming experience, she’s able to tap into her knowledge of the industry when supporting various teams along their continuous improvement journeys. As an enthusiastic learner herself, she finds much inspiration in facilitating the learning of others and witnessing their incredible growth.
She works towards diversity, equality and inclusion within her company and community by serving as Chair for Caesars Hispanic Business Impact Group - VIA, Advisory Council Member for Hispanic Scholarship Fund and Board Member for Association of Latino Professionals for America.
Gabriel Garcia is a creative design and strategy professional with years of experience launching brands and campaigns across a wide range of platforms for global brands MGM Resorts International, Caesars Entertainment Corporation, Ultimate Fighting Championship and Sunday Slacker Media. He has developed brands for celebrity chefs Giada, Gordon Ramsay, Guy Fieri, and Nobu; for entertainers Jennifer Lopez, Penn & Teller, and Britney Spears and recently brands for Caesars Dubai.
He was previously a Board Member for VIA, Caesars Entertainment Hispanic resource group and a Board Member of the AIGA Design American Institute of Graphic Arts.
He is active in fostering the development of talent in his community through his involvement with The Art Institute of Las Vegas, the College of Southern Nevada, University Nevada Las Vegas, and Valley High. He has helped judge various art and design events and has been a guest speaker at these institutions.
Gabriel is the Director of Marketing for ALPFA Las Vegas, and helps devise the strategic campaigns to increase awareness and build engagement.
Nelly Anaya is Director of Internal Audit Services at MGM Resorts International (MGM RI). She has lived in Las Vegas for 24+ years, she obtained a bachelors’ degree in Business Administration- Accounting from UNLV. She has more than 13 years of experience providing a wide variety of internal audit services which includes Sarbanes Oxley, FCPA, and financial / operational audits. She has led work in MGM Macau and has traveled to Hong Kong to perform audit work.
She leads the recruiting efforts for her department and has made connections with various UNLV organizations led by students.
She is also member of professional organizations such as the Institute of Internal Auditors, the Association of Certified Examiners, and Global Gaming Women.
She often volunteers at non-for-profit organizations such as Junior Achievement, Catholic Charities of Southern Nevada, and Three Square Food Bank.
Currently she serves as the ALPFA Las Vegas Chapter Treasurer.
Alma Rodriguez is the Secretary for ALPFA Las Vegas. Alma has worked in the healthcare field for more than 15 years. She loves to give back whenever possible through community engagement, being an advocate for the children in foster care and serving in various roles for both local and national Boards. Alma enjoys quality family time and the comfort of her home.
Fernando is a banking professional in Wells Fargo’s Commercial Banking Group specializing in lending to businesses with revenues over $50 million.
He is an advocate for Diversity and Inclusion and economic empowerment, having co-founded a non-profit in high school which aimed to help students in underprivileged communities connect with others for volunteering and professional development opportunities. He also serves as Chair of Member Development for Wells Fargo’s Latin Connection of Southern Nevada.
At ALPFA Las Vegas, he helps spearhead the development of student chapters at local Southern Nevada colleges and universities as well as inspire high school students to reach towards pursuing higher education.
Karina is experienced in 5 Star Forbes as a Casino Marketing Sales Agent at Wynn Resorts for the Wynn and Encore, Las Vegas. She gives an optimum level of service and has a demonstrated history of working in Guest Relations for some of the most prestigious hotels in the hospitality industry including the Venetian and Palazzo.
In 2017, Karina completed a bachelor’s degree in Communication and Media Studies with a minor in Political Science from UNLV. She gained public relations experience from one of the leading firms in Las Vegas, the Ferraro Group in February 2018. As a strong marketing professional, Karina is skilled in technology information systems, content analysis, operations, and positive customer results.
Since November 2019, Karina is a Marketing and Communication committee member for ALPFA, Las Vegas. She became Director of Communications and helps market strategic campaigns to bring in membership and engagement.
