Justin Lopez serves as ALPFA’s President of Colleges and Universities, and oversees Professional Chapter Operations since September 2019. Prior to ALPFA, Justin was a Vice President at Goldman Sachs in the Operations division, where he worked for 11 years. Prior to Goldman Sachs, Justin was briefly at Elbit Fort Worth, and started his career at Lockheed Martin Aeronautics as an F-16 retrofit programs engineer.
While at Goldman Sachs, Justin focused on process improvements and risk management in the Securities, and Banking and Investment Lending divisions. He managed teams in executing business functions for brokerage clients, and firm inventory management transactions. Justin also delivered regulatory reporting, directed risk working groups in improvement initiatives, coordinated business intelligence efforts and obtained his Core Certification in Alteryx. In addition to his client roles at Goldman Sachs, Justin served as Chairperson for several pillars and committees in the firm’s Hispanic Latin Network, and participated in conference recruiting, interview screening, and internal mentoring. Justin was also involved in campus recruiting for Texas A&M, and captained recruiting for Thunderbird MBA students.
At Elbit Fort Worth, Justin worked as a systems engineer to document, upgrade and restructure the Engineering procedural hierarchy to help the company achieve a Capability Maturity Model rating. While at Lockheed Martin, he worked on multiple F-16 upgrade programs, managing downstream functions of engineering updates for structural and electrical system upgrades. Justin completed onsite F-16 retrofit projects in Bahrain and Korea.
Justin holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Mechanical Engineering Technology from Texas A&M University, and an MBA in International Management and a Certificate in Global Management Communication from Thunderbird School of Global Management.
Justin is married to his college sweetheart Cristina, and has three children, Joaquin, Carolina and Rafael. When not working, Justin enjoys watching all of his children dance Ballet Folkorico, and coaches all of their soccer and baseball teams. Justin also enjoys reading business leadership and motivational books, as well as learning about southwestern food cultures, and attended Foodways Texas’ locally famous Camp Brisket in 2019.
