The 2018 ALPFA Boston Rising Latino Leaders Summit is a first of its kind annual event focused on empowering a selected group of mid-level Latino professionals to pursue senior executive positions. The Summit combines the elements of research, best practices, and specialized leadership and professional development proven to boost career pathways. The summit represents a unique opportunity for companies to identify and recognize talent, and pave the way for their continued career growth.

EVENT LOGISTICS

Date: Thursday, September 27th, 2018

Time: 2:00 PM - 8:00 PM

Location: Cambridge College 500 Rutherford Avenue, Charlestown, Massachusetts 02129

Expected audience: 60-70 attendees


Key Elements of the Summit

  1. Participant selection: Partner companies select and nominate mid-level employees that are making a positive impact in their organizations through their work contributions and career growth, and have the potential to become rising stars (See below criteria for mid-level nominations)

  2. Leadership panel: Seniors executives who have succeeded as senior leaders will share the key elements, conditions and skills that ignited their careers, serving as role models for event participants

  3. Professional Development session: Participants will take the Predictive Index Behavioral Assessment, a highly effective, scientifically-validated assessment tool that will help them learn how to become a better leader and succeed in the workplace

  4. Collective impact session: Affinity groups will outline the strategies and services they offer to mentor and sponsor career growth with the goal of identifying/showcasing public-private initiatives that can support Latino career advancement


Criteria Mid-Level Professional

Mid - level professionals that have the potential to become senior leaders in their respective industry. Nominees could fit at least one of the following criteria:

  • Have an operational role, rather than a supporting staff role

  • Have a global reach or international role, or could potentially fill one

  • Recognition: Are celebrated by senior managers, colleagues and peer

  • Involved in extracurricular activities such as community/civic engagement

  • Showing progression/career growth/career depth: Having an impact across diverse areas in the organization
