On March 14, 2017, ALPFA will host a Summit that will bring together leading women from across various sectors of the global economy. This will be an opportunity to hear from nationally recognized speakers through keynote addresses, one-on-one interviews, panel discussions and interactive small group discussions where guests can also learn from each other’s stories. The programming will focus on discovering one’s purpose and passion, both at the personal and corporate level.

 

Following the Summit, ALPFA will host a formal dinner Gala, featuring inspiring speakers, lively entertainment, and live & silent auctions. Proceeds will go towards advancing ALPFA’s purpose and supporting the next generation as they discover their values, passion, and purpose in order to reach their full potential.

Cynthia Hudson is senior vice president and general manager of CNN en Español and Hispanic strategy for CNN/U.S. Hudson oversees all aspects of CNN's Spanish-language media businesses, including newsgathering, editorial content, programming, production, operations and personnel, of the CNN en Español 24/7 television news network, CNN en Español RADIO and Cnn Español.com.

 

Sylvia Acevedo
Interim CEO of the Girl Scouts of the USA

A proud Girl Scout, engineer and rocket scientist, and passionate advocate for both girls and Girl Scouts, Sylvia Acevedo credits her Girl Scout experience with propelling her to success in the corporate and philanthropic sectors. Acevedo is a national advocate for STEM education who serves as a strategic consultant to companies that wish to use technology to capitalize on demographic trends-and she previously served as president and CEO of CommuniCard LLC, a firm that used innovative technology to harness market trends. A talented executive who has held positions with some of the world's most respected companies, Acevedo is also a fervent supporter of Hispanic, girls', and women's causes, and a White House commissioner on the Presidential Initiative for Hispanic Educational Excellence.

Acevedo's love of Girl Scouts and the mission eventually led her to the GSUSA Board of Directors, where she served as secretary and Executive Committee member. And now, as interim CEO of Girl Scouts of the USA, Acevedo wants to continue to give back to a movement that has given her so much.
