Women of ALPFA Regional Leader

On behalf of the ALPFA & the Women of ALPFA Strategy Development Committee (SDC), we are pleased to announce an open call for applications for five Women of ALPFA Regional Leader roles. These five regional leaders will become part of the Regional Leadership structure for ALPFA to provide more dedicated support on this important strategic initiative - Women of ALPFA. During this period, we will be searching for qualified members to fill volunteer positions for a two-year term beginning January 15, 2017.

The Chair of ALPFA Corporate Advisory Board and ALPFA’s COO are responsible for identifying and evaluating candidates, female and male, for these positions. We are looking for a variety of professional and personal backgrounds in order to obtain an inclusive range of viewpoints and perspectives. The open call for applications runs from November 29 to December 16, 2016

Role Description

The Women of ALPFA Regional Leader (WOA RL) is a strategic advisor on Women of ALPFA initiatives and programs for a designated ALPFA region as well as a member of the Strategy Development Committee whose role is to support the strategic priorities for advancing Women of ALPFA across the US. The WOA RL directly supports chapter Presidents & Executive Vice Presidents (EVPs) with WOA programming, tools, and by liaising with ALPFA staff on national WOA themes & priorities.



The WOA RL should focus on integrating Women of ALPFA across the region and to support chapters in delivering WOA programs consistently across the region, creating greater value for members & sponsors. 


Primary Responsibilities


  • Chapter Strategic Guidance & Advice - The WOA RL will work with the Chapter’s executive leadership team to provide advice & guidance on WOA programming in the region and across all chapters.  


  • Corporate Partner relationship management - The WOA RL will partner with the ALPFA Regional Director to ensure that the chapter leaders understand how to deliver creative, strategic, ROI-based WOA programs to a corporate partner through the multiple aspects and programs of a chapter. Provides guidance on how to prospect and secure corporate funding for WOA events.


  • Event planning: content, programming and execution - The WOA RL will partner with the COO and Regional team to ensure that all chapter WOA events are aligned with ALPFA’s mission as well as national WOA priorities & annual themes.  WOA programs (minimum 1 per year, per chapter) should be relevant to each chapter’s local market, appropriately conveying the ALPFA message to corporate partners and provide learning opportunities for members.


Additional Responsibilities & Expectations: 


  • 6 hours/week with a minimum of one contact per chapter per month for 1 hour.


  • 2-year term.


  • Ensure WOA programming is aligned with ALPFA’s national WOA priorities, branding, etc.


  • Support the strategic & tactical direction of the chapters’ WOA programs.


  •  Participate in a monthly conference call with COO and other WOA RL to share updates on progress and share best practices.


  • Read and sign ALPFA’s Confidentiality Agreement, Code of Ethics and Conflict of Interest Policies.


Required Skills:


Strong working knowledge of Women of ALPFA or comparable program

Physically based within the region being supported

Strong Communication & Presentation skills
