I AM A BASIC (FREE) MEMBER, AND I WANT TO RECEIVE A DISCOUNT ON MY CONVENTION REGISTRATION. HOW DO I UPGRADE MY MEMBERSHIP?

Visit alpfa.org and click "Sign In" at the upper right of your screen to log in.
On the right menu under "My Profile" click "Manage Profile". Under "Invoicing, Payments & History" click "Membership". You will be provided with a current membership status and options to renew via credit card payment

I AM AN ALPFA MEMBER BUT I CANNOT REMEMBER MY MEMBER TYPE. HOW DO I VIEW MY MEMBERSHIP STATUS?

Convention

WHAT IS THE ALPFA CONVENTION?

The Annual Convention attracts over 3000 attendees over five days. Latinos represent ~75 percent of attendees: 62 percent are professionals and 38 percent college students. The ALPFA Annual Convention provides you with an opportunity to connect with colleagues from a variety of industries, schools and organizations to diversify your network and connections. Our National Convention also offers special events that provide attending professionals and students with opportunities for leadership development and career advancement. For Partners, The ALPFA Annual Convention, features key opportunities to expand your brand, recruit talent, provide training, and develop your internal talent while expanding your presence in the Latino market.

THIS IS MY FIRST TIME AT THE CONVENTION, WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT?

You should expect 4 days packed with amazing networking opportunities, multiple professional development workshops, great entertainment and the possibility of being in front of recruiters from some of the most recognized corporations in the country.

HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE EXPECTED TO ATTEND?

3,000 to 3,500

HOW MANY DAYS DOES IT LAST?

5 days in total. The first day (August 6th) is reserved just for ALPFA chapter leaders. General attendance is from August 7th to the 10th

WHEN AM I SUPPOSED TO ARRIVE?

If you are an ALPFA Chapter leader you should expect to arrive on  August 5th so you can attend a full day of planned activities for ALPFA chapter leaders on  August 6th.

If you are NOT an ALPFA Chapter leader, then you should arrive on 
August 6th in order to attend the first day of general activities on  August 7th.

WHEN AM I SUPPOSED TO LEAVE?

The convention ends with a formal gala on the evening of August 10th. If your registration package includes the gala we suggest that you leave the following day (August 11th). Likewise, the Career Fair takes place on August the 10th so if you are planning to participate in it you need to arrange for travel plans accordingly.

IN WHAT HOTEL SHOULD I STAY?

Our official hotel for the convention is the Caesars Palace.

ARE THERE SPECIAL HOTEL RATES FOR ATTENDEES?

Yes, when booking with the Caesars Palace, convention attendees that mention the ALPFA Convention receive a rate of $167 per night.

HOW DO I BOOK MY HOTEL?

Caesars Palace is our Host Hotel for the convention.  Information on booking your hotel accommodations can be found on the Hotel & Travel page. < Click Here >  If Caesars Palace has been sold out, we have provided other hotels in close proximity to the convention.

HOW DO I REGISTER FOR CONVENTION?

 Registration is easy!  Go to the REGISTER HERE button on any convention page or    < Click Here >.

WHAT MEALS ARE INCLUDED IN MY REGISTRATION?

Professional registration receives meals at the following events: Welcome Reception, Scholarship Luncheon, WoA Luncheon, Leadership Luncheon, and Gala.

 

Student registration receives meals at the following events: Student Breakfast/Hospitality Sessions (M-W), Student Lunch and Learns (Mon, Wed and Thur), Welcome Reception, and Scholarship Luncheon.

 

HOW DO I VIEW MY CONVENTION INVOICE?

Once you have completed your Convention registration purchase you will receive two emails: Registration Confirmation Email AND a Payment Confirmation Email, both from christine@national.alpfa.orgYour Payment Confirmation Email contains a link to your invoice: "Click here for a printable view of the order." Be sure you save both of these emails for your records. 

If you are an ALPFA member you can also access your invoice through your alpfa.org profile:

  • Log in to your alpfa.org account
  • On the right menu under "My Profile," click "Manage Profile"
  • Under "Invoicing, Payments & History" click "Invoices"

If you are NOT an ALPFA member and have accidentally deleted your Convention Payment Confirmation Email, you will need to contact an administrator for assistance. Please email christine@national.alpfa.org with your request. Due to the high volume of requests, please allow one week for an administrator to respond.

ON THE CONVENTION REGISTRATION PAYMENT SCREEN, I RECEIVE AN ERROR THAT MY CREDIT CARD IS INVALID.

Please make sure that you are using a valid credit card, and that the Full Name and Billing Address - including the Billing ZIP Code - match exactly what is on your card.

WHAT IS THE ALPFA CANCELLATION POLICY?

Refunds related to registration cancellations will be permitted for special circumstances only and must be submitted at least 30 days prior to the event. Registration cancellations that are approved will receive refunds via the method paid.  Cancellation requests received after the stated deadline will not be considered. Refunds/credits will not be available for registrants who choose not to attend an event. Cancellation requests will only be accepted if received in writing or via email by the stated deadline. All cancellation requests must be sent by the attendee to Katie@national.alpfa.org.

 ARE THERE VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES?

WHAT IS THE DRESS CODE?

 The dress code for the convention is business attire.

DOES MY CONVENTION REGISTRATION INCLUDE HOTEL RESERVATIONS?

No, you will need to book your hotel reservation separately.

ARE ALL THE WORKSHOPS FINAL?

No. Corporate sponsors are still finalizing details on workshops they will offer. We will be adding updates as we get them from our sponsors.

MY COMPANY IS SPONSORING MY ALPFA CONVENTION REGISTRATION. HOW DO I REGISTER FOR CONVENTION?

Please contact the ALPFA representative at your company. They will be able to provide you with registration instructions specific to your group.

MY COMPANY WANTS TO PARTICIPATE AS AN EXHIBITOR AT THE ALPFA CAREER FAIR DURING CONVENTION. DO I NEED TO BUY AN EXHIBITOR PASS?

Exhibitor passes should only be purchased by organizations that have already purchased a booth at Convention, and require individual passes for additional exhibitors. If your organization is interested in purchasing a booth at the Career Fair, please email Ann Marquez, Vice President of Strategic Partnerships at ann.l.marquez@national.alpfa.org

Yes, but it is not live yet. We will follow up with all attendees with specific instructions to download it and use it once it has been launched.
