"I migrated to the United States in late 2009. Being an ambitious person, I continued my studies and worked full time to help support my family. I chose Nova Southeastern University because it was the closest to work and home. At Nova I saw the opportunity to promote the Accounting Club. I successfully led this team and also got involved in running the IRS-sponsored VITA program at NSU. I was the Site coordinator.

After integrating into the South Florida Latin culture and learning how to dance to Bachata and Merengue, I met Daniel Zamora through friends. Daniel introduced me to ALPFA and I went back to NSU to share this discovery.

At first the NSU team did not quite understand the impact that ALPFA could have on the school. I saw the need since I lived in South Florida and persevered regardless. I joined with Evgeny Munkov, President of the Economics Association and Sakif Azam from the Accounting Club to formally start an ALPFA chapter: ALPFA NSU.

My team and I would carpool and drive to events in Miami to meet the ALPFA Miami and FIU teams. We were welcomed by the ALPFAmilia in Miami and later learned of the ALPFA Convention. We shared this opportunity with NSU students.

At the convention, I was able to connect with Boeing ALPFA employees. Following successful interviews, I was offered a position as an Accountant in International Accounting in Seattle, Washington. I was nominated and successfully interviewed for the Business Skills Rotation Program which allows me to change jobs every year within the business and finance functions at Boeing over a three year period.

ALPFA afforded me National and International networks in my job search. For this I will be forever grateful. In August 2015, one year after being with the company, I attended the ALPFA Convention in New York City. I was there as (a Boeing) employee and a representative of ALPFA."
