Enna is a senior IT and Business Professional with expertise in Quality Assurance Management and Team Restructuring and Transformation. Her career spans over 25 years of working in multiple industries such as financial services, education, advertising and many software and startup companies. Currently, Enna is Vice President, Quality Engineering Director at Eastern Bank and is responsible for the management and leadership of the enterprise Quality Assurance team.  Her role will be to create and implement processes for manual and automation tests for the online and mobile banking systems. Enna started a 2-year term as President, ALPFA Boston chapter. ALPFA, Association of Latino Professionals For America, was established over 40 years ago and its mission is to empower and develop Latino men and women as leaders of character for the nation, in every sector of the global economy. Enna has a huge passion for Diversity and Inclusion, talent engagement and community organizations. She was the recipient of the Year Up Outstanding Manager Award in January 2014.

 

Enna was born in Santurce, Puerto Rico and her parents are from Dominican Republic. She lives in Roslindale, MA and is the proud mother of 4 amazing kids Katrina 17, Moises 18, Justin 21 and Mario Jr 28, and a granddaughter of 3.

Caro Ruiz is the Corporate Strategy Manager at Tufts Health Plan (THP) where she leads strategic assessments in collaboration with colleagues in each business line to grow our existing business. Previously, she was the Product Planning and Strategy Manager for Senior Products at THP where she established the strategic direction of the Senior Product portfolio and assisted with new product and geographic assessment and development.  She also worked at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts for nine years. She was a Product Manager in the Commercial line of business where she was responsible for managing a specific set of medical insurance product lines including its maintenance activities ensuring product integrity, accurate delivery and administration as well as ensuring compliance with applicable governing rules.  Prior to this role, she was a Senior Business Analyst where she participated in the development of business requirements, test plans and implementation strategies for multiple systems related to the Medicare Advantage product line. 

 

Caro is the Chief Administrative Officer of the Association of Latino Professionals For America (ALPFA), a Latino professional non-profit organization with over 7,000 members and over 15 corporate sponsors in the Boston area.  Previously, she held other board positions such as the Vice President of the ALPFA Healthcare Committee, Secretary of the New England Rugby Football Union (NERFU) and President of the Boston Women’s Rugby Football Club. Caro has a Masters’ degree in Science with a concentration in Health Care Informatics and a Certificate in Project Management from the College of Professional Studies at Northeastern University.  She is also has a Systems Engineering Bachelors Degree from the Universidad Metropolitana in Caracas, Venezuela.

Natalia is the Chief Administrative Officer of State Street’s academic affiliate.  In that role, Natalia oversees and coordinates SSA’s interactions with State Street’s corporate control functions. Natalia also manages a broad range of logistical and project management functions in coordination with the State Street Global Exchange and State Street Global Markets divisions.  Prior to joining State Street, Natalia served in various roles at Santander Holdings on both their Enterprise Risk Management teams and the underlying sub-committees as well as the project manager tasked with implementing the Intermediary Holding Company.  While at Bank of America, Natalia spearheaded the onboard training program for the distressed lending team.  Natalia also worked on first and second line of defense regulatory driven initiatives in the mortgage servicing space.

 

One of Natalia’s goals is to empower those around her to succeed.  It is for this reason that she joined the board of ALPFA Boston as Chair of the Marquee Events Committee in 2013.  She has since progressed to becoming the Vice President of Marquee Events, the Vice President of Student Partnerships and most recently the Chief Relationship Officer for the Chapter. Natalia earned her undergraduate degree in business administration with concentrations in Finance and Management as well as her MBA from the Manning School of Business at the University of Massachusetts Lowell where she mentors graduating seniors to ensure a smooth transition into the workplace.

 

    VP of Finance: Busola Laguda

Busola is the Vice President, Financial Institutions Analyst within the Investment Portfolio Management team in Global Treasury. In this capacity, she monitors investments in financial institutions for State Street Bank’s investment portfolio and performs deep dive financial analyses and peer reviews of financial institutions for use by State Street management team. Prior to joining State Street in 2011, Busola worked in the Nigerian banking as well as oil and gas sectors. She worked both in the Asset and Liabilities Management and Currency Trading units of NAL Bank Plc. (now Sterling Bank Plc.) and Access Bank Plc., respectively. She then proceeded to work with Zenon Petroleum and Gas Limited as the CFO in 2005 and in that capacity was instrumental in the company’s acquisition of African Petroleum Plc. (now Forte Oil Plc.), formerly owned by the Nigerian government. 

 

Busola graduated with a B.Sc. Honors in Biochemistry from the University of Lagos in 1997. She thereafter obtained an MBA degree in Finance from the same university in 2002 and became an Associate of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, having completed the institute’s professional examinations in 2001. Busola also obtained a Master’s degree in International Business from the Fletcher School, Tufts University in May 2011 with concentration in International Finance and Banking.

In January 2016 Daniela stepped into the role of Vice President of the Coaching and Mentoring program for the ALPFA Boston Chapter. Which along with committee members, she revamped the program by shifting it from group-based to one-on-one mentoring, recalibrated programming content, and developed training materials for mentors and mentees. In August she was invited by the ALPFA Boston President to serve in the role of Vice President of Marketing for the Chapter with the goal of streamlining marketing processes and restructuring governance procedures for a more responsive marketing team. Daniela earned a Master's Degree in Business Administration in 2015 from Babson Graduate School of Business with a focus in Marketing Strategy and Business Analytics, and a Bachelor's Degree in Communications with a focus in Advertising from Pontifical Catholic University of Minas Gerais, Brazil.

Giselle Ortega- Ramos is a Strategy and Business Development Manager. Her career started in 2006 in Mexico. She worked for a Business Incubator. Her first job position was as market analyst. She was in charge of evaluating new business ideas and analyzing if those ideas were feasible. After a year as a market analyst, she had the opportunity to become a business consultant. It was a fascinate experience because she had the opportunity to be in close relationship with entrepreneurs. Furthermore, she had the opportunity to learn and get experience about all the areas of business. In 2008, she joined her father’s consulting firm. Her principal role was financial and operational planning, attending to client needs; analyzing the impact in their businesses, and developing market research. She has developed projects for different industries, the most grateful experience there was the development of a business plan, operation plan, and financial analysis for a major Credit Union in the agriculture sector as well as a business consultant for Valeria Shoe Company focused in the design of leather shoes for women.

 

She has a BBA with majors in economic and finances. She is an experience new product and business development professional with MBA and marketing and international business orientation. Recognized by improving the lives of minorities through the consulting of starting and managing small businesses. She believes that to be part of a successful economy; it is important to understand all that surround a business. She recognizes the importance of education as tool of success. Currently, she is working on an initiative to reduce the cost and time frame professional immigrants adapt to the U.S. labor market. She hopes to get to the lives of all those professionals and help them to succeed in this always changing economy. She also works for Macro Construction where she is trying to reinvent and give a more competitive perspective to the business using all her business knowledge.

My name is Stefany Mendez and I am 25 years old. I was born in the Dominican Republic in 1991 and migrated to the United States with my parents in 1992. I currently live in Worcester Massachusetts with my parents and brother. I attended Worcester Technical High School and took on the Finance and Marketing trade as focus. In 2013 I attained a BA, and in 2016 I achieved a Master’s degree from Nichols College in Webster, Ma. I am also highly involved in my community and at my church. For 11 years I have been a religious educator at Saint Paul’s Cathedral and have been a member of the cathedral’s choir for 13 years.

 

For employment, I am currently working at Harvard Pilgrim Health Care in the Procurement Services Department as a Procurement Category Lead. My duties include contracting, sourcing, facilitating purchases and finding saving opportunities. Apart from the daily duties I am involved in the Supplier Diversity & Inclusion track with efforts to partner with, and develop minority suppliers. I have helped to implement corporate policies and procedures that ensure that diverse business owners have visibility and opportunity for business growth with Harvard Pilgrim through supplier inclusion initiatives. Separately from being an ALPFA member, I also participate in other external diversity and inclusion groups such as The Greater NE Minority Development Council (GNEMSDC), and Center for Women’s Entrepreneurship (CWE). I have been highly involved in these organizations with hopes to develop a network of minority owned business’. In 2016 I received a certificate of appreciation from CWE for mentoring a women owned business. At Harvard Pilgrim Health Care, I have also been involved in our Employee Resource Group, Latino Leaders in Action for three years now. This year I was granted the 2017 position of Co-Chair and will be working along my colleague Oscar Cabrera in efforts to develop a most inclusive workplace.

Mario is originally from New Jersey and comes from a family of six. He is the oldest of the four children and graduated in 2011 with a Bachelor's of Science in Applied Economics & Management from Cornell University. Mario was first introduced to ALPFA in college, where he went on to found the first Ivy League undergraduate chapter of ALPFA and serve as its first president. He rose membership to a level that made it one of the most popular Latino undergraduate organizations.

 

Mario began his career with as a summer intern with UBS and was extended an offer to return post-graduation for their two year Graduate Talent Program. Following the GTP, Mario because a Banking Sales Specialist out of the UBS home office in Weehawken, New Jersey. Then in 2015, Mario was offered the role of Assistant Market Head for the Private Wealth Management office of UBS in Boston where he continues to work now. In 2016, El Mundo Boston recognized Mario as one of their Latino 30 Under 30.
