February Highlights from our President

Posted By Claudia Madrid, Wednesday, February 15, 2017

We are on our way into building an exciting 2017 Calendar of Events! As winter gains momentum and we constantly think about going to work or working from home due to all the snow, we must ask ourselves why we get up in the morning. What motivates us to go above and beyond our daily expectations and deliver? At ALPFA Boston, we have a large Board of Directors who ‘daily’ goes above and beyond their call of duty. They work hard and late into the night to deliver content-rich programming that provides value to our membership and to our corporate partners. These groups of dedicated volunteers have stepped up and raised their hands and are working diligently to deliver and mostly exceed my expectations. The Calendar of Events for the next few months is amazing, and none of this would occur without them. I dedicate the February Newsletter to my 2017 Board of Directors and their committees. I have set forth an exciting and packed-full agenda and I know each and every one of them will help deliver.

To our membership and corporate partners, I hope to meet and greet each of you at the various upcoming events. Most importantly, I would highlight our March keynote speaker Dr. Antonia Novello, who accomplished two big milestones when she was appointed the 14th Surgeon General of the U.S. Public Health Services. She was the first Latina and the first Woman. We are excited to have her in Boston for an entire week where she will host various topics such as A Call to Action. I’m also super excited to be partnering for the first time with Salem State University and Simmons College for these events.

You will notice lots of new partnerships and collaboration this year. Please stay tuned and follow us on our website and looking forward to seeing you at all the events.

Sincerely yours,

Enna Jimenez
